Steven McKearney



STEVEN MCKEARNEY has appeared in productions of:

  • Notre Dame des Fleurs (College of Marin Opera)
  • Carmina Burana (Indiana University)
  • The Black Spider (College of Marin Summer Opera)
  • Wuornos (workshops, 1998 and 1999), and
  • Die Fledermaus, The Bohemian Girl, and The Marriage of Figaro (Iowa State University Opera Studio).

    Theatrical credits include:

  • Three Sisters Who Are Not Sisters (EXIT Theater)
  • Phrenic Crush (Creative Work Fund, SFSU), and
  • Theodora (Sympathetic Vibrations).

McKearney, a bass-baritone and countertenor, has performed solo with the Sessione Senese per la Musica e l’Arte (Sienna). As a member of the San Francisco Symphony Chorus (1992-95), he recorded Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem (London Records). He has also performed with the Sanford Dole Ensemble, Gruppo Madrigalistico (Florence),Pro Arte Singers (Indiana University), and Des Moines Metro Opera Chorus.

McKearney has a Master of Arts in Italian from Middlebury College, a Bachelor of Music in Performance from Iowa State University, and post-graduate studies in Early Music and Italian from Indiana University.
